Post Malone turned his Thanksgiving halftime performance into an emotional tribute on Thursday night, honoring late Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who died earlier this month at age 24.
Performing at the Cowboys vs. Kansas City Chiefs Thanksgiving game at AT&T Stadium, the Texas-raised artist delivered a medley of “Wrong Ones,” “Wow,” and “I Had Some Help” before speaking directly to the crowd.
“I love you so much, Dallas, Texas,” Malone told the roaring audience. “Make some noise for the best team in the world: the Dallas Cowboys.”
He then ended the show with a heartfelt dedication:
“And we love you, 94. We love you.”
Kneeland, who wore jersey No. 94, died on Nov. 6 from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Malone also wore a special pin featuring “94” as another nod to the young defensive lineman.
⭐ A Tribute That Hit Close to Home
For Malone, the moment was deeply personal. Though born in New York, he grew up in Grapevine, Texas, and spent his childhood in the shadow of AT&T Stadium, where his father worked in concessions. He has been a lifelong Cowboys fan and has long expressed pride in performing at team events.
The Cowboys previously released a statement mourning Kneeland:
“Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization… Our thoughts and prayers are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”
🎵 A Growing NFL Legacy for Post Malone
This wasn’t Malone’s first high-profile NFL appearance:
• He joined Beyoncé for her viral Christmas Day halftime show in 2024
• Performed “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl LVIII
• Returned to his hometown stadium in 2025 for a sold-out stop on his Big Ass Stadium Tour
His Thanksgiving performance continues to strengthen his association with major NFL moments.
